Casey has been operating Neck of the Woods handmade soaps out of her home for the past three years. She learned to make soap at a goat milk farm in Manitoba while volunteering on various organic farms throughout 2011. Upon returning to Nova Scotia, Casey began experimenting with cow's milk soaps having friends nearby who owned a jersey cow. After getting the 'thumbs up' for her recipes from friends and family, she began vending her soaps at the small Waldorf School Market near her home in Blockhouse. Since then Neck of the Woods has become a staple at the Lunenburg Farmer's Market, and has expanded into an ever evolving variety of soaps, fabulous shampoo bars, shaving bars, lip balms, and more! Plans for spring include moving into shops in Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, as well as an additional farmer's market and craft market. Casey would like to thank the south shore community for supporting her vision and supporting local entrepreneurs!
